Presidents Message February 28, 2016

02/28/2015 7:00 AM | Anonymous

RANGE HAS BEEN OPEN FOR REC SHOOTING

In case your not aware the range has been open for recreational shooting since Feb 1, 2016 with good results. We have waived the RSO requirement and simply ask that you attend a short firing line safety briefing to be able to use the range unsupervised. Any member caught using the range without the briefing will have their gate card shut off until they come before the board and explained why the rules don't apply to them. Please remember to sign in and out and provide your badge number in the space provided. We have upgraded the camera system and purchased a stand alone camera system for the trap range. We are getting pricing now on the card swipes for the man doors and the gate controller.

REMINDER FOR RENEWALS

Many members have not renewed yet and this is your last call.  You have until March 15, 2016 to have your renewals in if you would like to continue being a member.  Gate cards will be shut off starting March 16, 2016 no exceptions.

NRA DUES ARE GOING UP

NRA dues are increasing this year but we can still offer $25.00 memberships until the end of April.  Click this link for discounted memberships.

WORK PARTY MARCH 26, 2016

Next work party is scheduled for Saturday March 26, 2016. We have a lot of work to do yet but the positive note is we are open and nearly back to normal operation. Mark your calendar now for the work party. Sharon Dobson will be providing lunch and that should be reason enough to attend.

MEMBERSHIP AND NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION

Dates for new member orientation will be out soon. Membership is a huge job and is even more complex now with our membership screening requirements. Please be patient.  All work is volunteer and they are working diligently to get it done.

FIRING LINE BRIEFINGS

I will be conducting the firing line briefings on Saturday 3/5/16 from 8am to 9:30 am. On Sunday 3/6/16 directly following the Bullseye Pistol Match or at 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm. Saturday 3/19/16 directly follow ing the Cowboy Silhouette match until 3 pm. Fred Brown is available to conduct the safety briefings on Thursdays 9:30 am to 11:30 am during the regularly scheduled weekly work day..
